MISSION

India · B2B travel

Travel Deal B2B

The B2B brand. Defined, then built, to bring in new agents.

The room. Travel Deal B2B needed a brand a person could understand before they decided to become an agent. The digital space was where that definition had to live: the name, the offer, and the path into the work.

What was actually wrong. A feed and a few ads do not define a brand. An agent still had to see what the company was, why it was the place to work, and what happened after the first message.

What changed. I defined the brand and built everything it needed digitally. The site, the campaigns, and the path were for one job: new agents. Not travellers. That job belongs to the other brand.

MISSION

India · B2C travel

ALR Aviations

The consumer brand. Defined, then built, to bring clients.

The room. ALR Aviations is the B2C brand. The person here is a client: a trip, a fare, a booking. The brand had to be defined for that person, not borrowed from the agent business.

What was actually wrong. Without a defined brand in the digital space, a traveller met a name and no clear path. The page, the offer, and the follow-up were not yet a system built for clients.

What changed. I defined the brand and built everything it needed digitally. The surfaces and the path after arrival were for clients. Travel Deal B2B stayed the brand for new agents.

MISSION

India · Tech Mahindra Foundation

Tarraqi Smart Center

A centre run by Tarraqi Foundation and Tech Mahindra Foundation. I am the key mentor.

The room. Tarraqi Smart Center is run by Tarraqi Foundation and Tech Mahindra Foundation. It was built for people who were new to the work. They did not need a tour of software. They needed to leave able to brief a campaign, read a page, and say who the work was for.

What was actually wrong. A centre can look busy. Sessions run. Certificates get mentioned. Then you ask a person to write one paragraph about an offer and the room goes quiet. The tools were early. The decision was late.

What changed. I am the key mentor, not a guest hour. The people delivering the sessions hold the same line: a concept, then the tool, then a choice the student had to make. The centre could not depend on one person being in the room.

MISSION

Canada · Education

Colleges under Multihexa

Several colleges. One team. The offer was not the same for each of them.

The room. Multihexa was not a single campus with one student. A group of colleges sat under it. A prospective student looking at one of them was not looking at all of them.

What was actually wrong. One brand campaign, written as if every college inherited it, makes each college harder to choose. The page sounds generic. The team answering the enquiry cannot say what is different. Activity continues. The decision does not.

What changed. I marketed the colleges under Multihexa and trained the people carrying that work. Campaigns and content were written for the colleges under the group, not for a logo. The useful test was simple: could someone explain the offer for that college without waiting for me.

MISSION

United Kingdom · Education

CHD UK

An education choice that does not happen because an advertisement was clever.

The room. CHD UK sits in education. The person deciding is slow, and they are right to be. A course, a move, a fee. None of that is settled by a click.

What was actually wrong. A report full of clicks does not say whether the right person understood the offer, or whether the path after the ad did any work. Education demand leaks in the conversation that happens weeks later, not in the hour the ad ran.

What changed. The work was acquisition as a path: campaigns, the content and branding around them, and the performance questions that decide what stays. The advertisement was the smallest part. The offer had to survive a long conversation.

MISSION

India · AICTE

ICT Academy

Students and faculty, inside a formal programme, asked to make a decision.

The room. ICT Academy, with AICTE, ran inside real colleges. SSM College of Engineering and Islamia College of Science were two of those rooms. Faculty and students arrived expecting a tool. The useful hour is the one where someone has to say who the work is for.

What was actually wrong. A syllabus can cover every platform and still produce people who can open the software and cannot write a brief. The certificate photographs well. The first real account does not care.

What changed. Sessions were search, paid media, content, and sites, taught as choices. A concept, then the instrument, then something the student had to refuse. If they could not explain the audience, the tool lesson had been too early.

MISSION

United States · Independent

The first work that was not local

Freelance projects for clients in the United States, taken from Kashmir.

The room. There was no office and no inherited account. The client was in another country. The work had to hold without anyone being able to lean on a meeting.

What was actually wrong. Distance does not make a vague offer clearer. A business in the United States still had a page that did not explain itself, a channel asked to do a job it could not do, and a hope that traffic would sort the rest.

What changed. The brief had to be specific enough to survive the distance. Search, sites, paid media, and the path after the click, scoped to the constraint in front of that client. Names are not listed. The chapter is the practice, not a wall of logos.

MISSION

Kashmir · Colleges

Workshops in Kashmir

The same practice, taught in the rooms where the learning started.

The room. I started by teaching myself, at home. Later the rooms were colleges. The people in them were not already in the industry. A demo of a dashboard did not help them on Monday.

What was actually wrong. The early temptation is to perform the software. Students leave able to name a menu and unable to decide. The workshop feels full. The work is still unstarted.

What changed. Search, paid media, content, and sites were taught as decisions. Who it is for. What is being offered. What happens after the click. The classroom photograph in the archive is from this kind of room.

MISSION

Advanced Digital Marketing

The explanations the rooms kept asking for, put in one order.

The room. The client work and the classrooms kept producing the same questions. What is the offer. Where does demand come from. What does the page have to do. Those answers were being repeated by voice.

What was actually wrong. A thread of tips does not survive the week. People needed the order: research, search, the site, content, social, email, advertising. Not a new tactic every morning.

What changed. Advanced Digital Marketing, 2023 edition, is that order in a paperback, published by BlueRose. It is written from the practice, for someone who has to do the work.

MISSION

Before the titles

Businesses with a site, a feed, and no path.

The room. A large part of the early career was taken directly. There was no department. The business in front of me was often small, and the marketing was whatever had been posted last.

What was actually wrong. The site listed services and never said who they were for. The feed was active and disconnected from demand. Paid media, when it existed, was asked to repair a sentence the page had not written.

What changed. Each project started from the constraint. A site, a search footprint, a campaign, a content rhythm, then the enquiry that was supposed to follow. B2B and B2C. The job was to make one thing work and leave something the client could keep using.
